FACTA & Data Sharing Among Affiliates

Congress amended the Fair Credit Reporting Act in 203 by enacting FACTA (The Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act), which required that federal financial regulatory agencies adopt a uniform rule governing how affiliated companies can use, for marketing purposes, personal information recieved from another affiliate.  In 2007, federal agencies began to publish those rules.  The following is information on the federal rules on data sharing among affiliated companies, which applies to all businesses.
